Take the opportunity to spend a weekend catching up with colleagues about key developments in mental health social care in the congenial rural surroundings of Hothorpe Hall, near Market Harborough Leicestershire

Monday 14th November 2016 - 12.30 to Tuesday 15th November - 4pm

Chaired by BASW CEO Ruth Allen.

These are difficult times for mental health social care. Increases in poverty and the declining availability of resources are impacting on the mental health of communities. Social Care budgets have reduced by 31% in 5 years..

It has arguably never been more important to be professionally connected to help maintain optimism and to think about ways of reducing the impacts of austerity. This residential will give mental health social care leaders the time and space to explore themes of resilience in relation to challenges, including:-

The Care Act 2014 and  pressures on NHS/Local Authority partnerships

Maintaining quality in context of reduced public service offer

Influence: Promoting social perspectives in mainstream mental health

Social justice, human rights and co-produced leadership
