Maximising the knowledge and experience of social care leaders in mental health to improve outcomes.

Partnerships

The work of the Social Care Strategic Network shares come common aims with other networks and organisations. Some of relationships are formal such as the representation on the mental health, drugs and alcohol network of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS). Others centre around specific issues or projects such as the joint involvement with Social Care Institute for Excellence on the leadership and social care paper.

SCSN (MH) has had discussion about collaborations with the National Mental Health Development Unit on personalisation, for example. SCSN is being recognised as a collective of social care leaders in integrated organisation who have the potential to be key champions for change. SCSN member organisations indicate a commitment to retain the profile of social care in mental health, pushing forward with colleagues toward personalised, transformed and co-productive services, where service users are equal partners.
